Gutless Gerrard behind anti-Terry press?

By Fitz on 21-Jun-2010 at 21:48:43

Many of you like me will treat the term “TalkSPORT” very edgily, it being representative of so much sensationalism. This evening, though, presenter Mark Saggers stated the following on his Twitter account...

Mark's Twitter..

“hi Steve Gerrard should have responded to Terrys comments rather than texting those in the media he knows will put his side of the story”

Plus earlier on...

“Just heard the itv interview with Capello. Why haven't we heard from Gerrard .Have the FA set Terry up it's ludicrous.”

Those of you who saw the tweets at the time also report one, now removed, using the term "gutless coward (Gerrard) who should be ashamed of himself" ..however, as I say, this is now gone off Mark's page and cannot be confirmed..

Could it be that ‘our Stevie’ can’t handle the growing recognition the real England captain sat in a press conference yesterday and had the balls to say what a lot of people were thinking?

Bear in mind this is the Steven Gerrard who England have sacrificed a system playing to the strengths of several others to accommodate his lack of discipline so many times, with little effect.

The Steven Gerrard who frequently loses the ball.

The Steven Gerrard involved in bar assaults (“allegedly” - I have to put that).

The Steven Gerrard who has ‘captained’ the last two dismal performances.

Mark is part of a press contingent in South Africa that has been furiously 'tweeting' on the subject of Terry and his conference all day, with hacks from the vile Daily Mail and Daily Express doing their level best to continue the very clear press agenda against Terry, yet others such as The Telegraph's Henry Winter...

"Spot the irony...Fabio Capello uses the media to rebuke John Terry for 'a very big mistake'' of raising concerns - in the media."

It is an interesting subject when you wonder just where these journo's get their information, what relationships exist, and what motive an individual could have after Terry's press conference yesterday - and why they may be disgruntled. We now know, from one of them, that Gerrard has contacted journalists about the subject rather than man up and respond to Terry either publically or in house.

The plot thickens.

Well done JT, you’re a plonker quite often, but you’re a leader and speak the truth.

You’re certainly no coward..
