Has the ghost of Jose finally been laid to rest?

Are you, like me, appreciative and will forever have a ‘special’ place in your heart for the ‘special one’?

However are you like me, though, tired of the press harping on about Carlo winning the league with Jose’s team? Well, let’s consider the facts…. or my opinion at least.

Since Jose’s reign at Stamford Bridge ended there have been 3 managers (4 if you count Ray for the Watford game) and, looking at the team / squad which was present for the FA cup final, seven players by my reckoning who have nothing to do with Jose were present, three of which actually started.

For me, I feel that Carlo should get the credit he deserves, unreservedly, for bringing the Double to Chelsea without any reference to Jose.

Carlo and his team have demonstrated that they know how to man-manage some egos and very talented players, and from a tactical viewpoint, allow the players to play in a system that exploits the best of everyone. Has anyone else noticed that in the last few games Malouda was playing less offensively giving the defence more opportunity to go forward and Kalou and Anelka a free reign up front?

So in my view Carlo is also ‘a special one’ just for different reasons.
