Chelsea Transfer Outs: Update – Player Sales Imminent

By Fitz on 04-Jun-2010 at 12:23:44

In continuation of our recent disclosure of the senior players expected to leave Chelsea this season we are now in a position to add to the list, and further update the situation with the one ‘big’ transfer in we’ve been working on for 12 months..

Miroslav Stoch.

Sources close to the club have been reporting for a week or so now that the young Slovak international, fresh from title success with Steve McClaren’s FC Twente in Holland, is wanted by Galatasaray.

With one year left on his Chelsea contract it appears the club have decided his profile doesn’t fit what we have planned for that position and a bid of approximately £2.5mill is expected from the Turkish club and expected to be accepted.

Good luck to Miroslav, I have a feeling it won’t be the last we see or hear of his career.

Franco Di Santo

After his loan period with Blackburn produced numerous decent performances but a perilous lack of hitting the onion bag our Argentine lankster has attracted the interest of several clubs. The strongest interest appears to be emanating from Owen Coyle’s Bolton as he looks to rejuvenate what he appears to consider a pretty poor squad.

Again a bid of approximately £2mill is expected however it is unclear whether the club will feel Franco’s time is complete in our colours.

Jack Cork

Reports on other sites confirm out intelligence that Jack is wanted by both Burnley and Blackpool, both of whom feel they can’t justify a large fee for the player. The likely scenario appears that Jack will once again be loaned out, and Blackpool seem the more likely destination due to their Premier League status for the next 12 months.

However late news indicates that Jack’s progress has been monitored by Roy Hodgson at Fulham, an unexpected development, so watch this space. It does appear however that Jack will be leaving the club.

Scott Sinclair

Once heralded as a better prospect than Theo Walcott, sadly it appears our pacey forward has equally failed to live up to his billing. A season on loan with Wigan saw Scott restricted in chances and thus unable to make an impact. Having said this he was able to record his first Premier League goal and drew praise from manager Roberto Martinez:

"It's safe to say everyone knows I really value Scott's potential as a player,"

"I know it's been a tough season for him, but he has developed massively over the last 10 or 11 months and has gone on to a different level as a human being.

"We would all love to carry on working with Scott, but we'll have to sit down with him and see how he feels."

Continuing in the mutual appreciation society being fostered at Wigan, Scott replied..

“If the gaffer wants to keep me at Wigan permanently then I would definitely, definitely look into that.

“It’s a great club to be at, and it looks like we’ll be moving forward and doing even better over the next few years.

“I have really enjoyed my time here, despite it being difficult with me not playing.

“The gaffer has always been very supportive of me from day one, which has helped me a lot.

“And I have learnt a lot from being here and playing under him.”

Looks like Scott’s off then! Again, good luck to him. On this occasion I don’t feel Chelsea will regret the move in the long run.

And finally….Sergio Aguero..

The only update we have for you is that the rumours are true, Juventus DO want to buy the player.

The sticking point somewhat unsurprisingly, is once again the players wages. Italian taxation is different to the UK and may swing things in the Turin club’s favour on that basis, however Aguero’s continuing preference for Chelsea in sporting terms means it really is level pegging.

Athletico though are said to prefer the Juventus offer as it does include midfielder Tiago (once of Chelsea) and thus represents value saved on signing on fees etc.

More to follow on this one, but it does appear our frugal attitude could see us lose out.

Torres on the other hand – news to follow soon…
