Ashley Cole picks up award

By Doctor Gonzo on 07-Dec-2009 at 12:42:23

Ashley Cole has been awarded BBC London Footballer of the Year for 2009, the sixth successive Chelsea player to win the coveted award.

The 28 year old has had a good year, after having some bad ones, it says here.

The fact that our team of busy researchers have sadly failed to find any information at all about this award does not matter a jot of course, because it just goes to further demonstrate how there is indeed only one team in London.

A spokesperson for Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas said something in Spanish that we didn't understand.

Ashley joins Frank Lampard, John Terry, Joe Cole and Didier Drogba as other current Blues who have been chosen as London's top footballer.

However, upon finding out that there was no cash prize, Cole is reported to have punched an onlooker in the face, and broken out in sobs*.
